Our Process

The process of introducing  and eventually installing a digital signage network does not need to be  a complex process. The CMN solution is simple, efficient and effective. You can plan and have a signage network installed in 60 days under normal circumstances. Our digital signage specialists coordinate planning each network with the owner and their team.

We will visit your facility for a formal walk-through, to determine best locations for signage placement. We'll discuss your objectives. We will ask questions such as will your system be used primarily as an education tool or as an advertising medium for revenue generation?

Then we can begin the process of developing a cost model and rate card.

How it Works

1. We manage the process of equipment installation.
2. We work with the client to develop specific ad content.
3. We sell advertising on the Networks if required.

Many of our customers opt for having an ad revenue sharing plan which helps pay for the network.

A system typically includes:

  • CMN CONNECT: reliable, secure, cost effective Internet lcd or LED Monitors.
  • Video, sound, Wi-Fi if required
  • Install Monitors with mounts (Standard or articulating)
  • A media player at each play out location (for specialized content input).
  • Content creation and delivery.
  • Coordination of installation, network operations and management.
  • All hardware and software maintenance, help desk and quality control.
  • Help desk # 1-877-616-7446

Operations of the digital signage network include:

  • Display layout and playlist management
  • Connectivity
  • Help Desk
  • Maintenance
  • Display Rotation
  • Viewer Demographic
  • Rate Card
  • Content Acquisition and Network Branding

During the project development stage, operational aspects of the network are created and documented.

Network provides the following:
The best available equipment pricing including supply and installation if required.
The network owner purchases the equipment or leases from the supplier/ Installer.
The customer works with CMN to establish the network locations.

  • CMN will work with network location providers to establish proper internet connection nodes to the Network.
  • CMN will provide the network access and maintenance.
  • CMN will provide all content development.
  • CMN will develop a rate card for advertising sales. (if required)
  • CMN will provide regular consultation (TBD) to the network owner and provide commercial network audits when required.
  • CMN will provide its services under a 3-5 year service agreement. Exiting clauses are also placed in the agreement to protect both parties.
  • The service agreement has a monthly utility fee that is structured on the size of the network (# of DCC’s ) and the number of locations. It is extremely cost effective.

Getting Started: Concerns
With all technologies new to a specific market sector there are concerns surrounding adoption. Digital signage is no exception.

  • Too expensive. This is no longer the case. Screen and computing costs have fallen dramatically over the last five years.
  • Too difficult this is no longer the case. A good digital signage solution should be easy to use by even non-technical users, with very little work being required of the organizations staff. The ease of use will encourage buy-in of both staff and customers/ clients to the new system; with digital signage, it is easy to dynamically change the content with non technical staff, and customize different screens in different locations. Fresh and regularly updated content is essential to maximize the value of a digital signage system, so a dedication to content renewal needs to be established at the outset. A good digital signage system will be easy and intuitive to use for real-time updating and scheduling. The content management system for each digital signage solution will also vary with some being more simple than others; while some systems can offer much greater flexibility they may be more complex to use.

The content management solutions supports flexibility. CMN has a strict policy of keeping the content simple (grade 6 reading level). We adhere to monthly refresh of content and only under specific circumstances do we allow owner network access. Keeping network integrity is foremost to good network operation.

If it is that simple why not do it yourself?  There are several reasons for not doing it yourself :

  • It can become a project for an already overstretched IT dept and staff.
  • The time cost will be greater than the result.
  • Just doing Power points is not good enough
  • The quality will be lower
  • There will be a single point of data entry by an expert verses an inexperienced individual.
  • Ongoing support and maintenance will be a problem
  • The time and financial implications of having good professional content that is updated regularly. Considerable time can be saved by communicating with digital signage. In addition, by making good use of digital signage significant printing cost savings can be made as fewer brochures, leaflets and posters will need to be printed.

Security:
Will the system be open to abuse for example by employees/ staff  gaining access to post unsuitable content etc.?? CMN has password protection and encryption techniques built into its networks such that unauthorized users cannot gain illegal access or tamper with content or the system in any way. CMN has its offices and servers located in a level 4 Security Federal Government of Canada building in downtown Winnipeg in the province of Manitoba, Canada.
